Mobile Alchemy ("we", "us", or "our") operates the DreamGuard mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use DreamGuard.
1. Information We Collect
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect, transmit, or store any video or audio recordings from your baby monitor sessions.
- We do not collect your baby's name, photos, birth date, or any personal details you enter in the App. All such data is stored only on your device.
- We do not collect sleep tracking data, cry detection data, or environment sensor readings.
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs that collect personal data.
Information collected automatically:
- Subscription data: If you purchase a DreamGuard Pro subscription, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive anonymized subscription status information through Adapty (our subscription management service) to determine whether to unlock premium features. We do not receive or have access to your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID.
- Crash reports: If enabled by your device settings, Apple may share anonymized crash reports with us through App Store Connect. These contain no personally identifiable information.
2. How Your Data Stays Local
DreamGuard is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- Local-only streaming: Video and audio streams are transmitted directly between your two devices over your local Wi-Fi network using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework. No data passes through our servers or any third-party cloud service.
- On-device AI: Cry detection and classification runs entirely on your device. Audio is analyzed in real-time and never recorded or transmitted to any server.
- On-device storage: Baby profiles, sleep records, and settings are stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device only.
- Encryption: All peer-to-peer communication between your devices is encrypted using AES-256-GCM.
3. Camera and Microphone
DreamGuard requires camera and microphone access to function as a baby monitor:
- The camera is used solely to stream live video from the baby station device to the parent station device over your local network.
- The microphone is used to detect sound levels, analyze cry patterns, and enable two-way audio communication between devices.
- No audio or video data is ever recorded to files, uploaded, or transmitted outside your local network.
4. Local Network
DreamGuard uses your local network (Wi-Fi) to discover and connect the baby station and parent station devices. This communication uses Apple's Bonjour protocol and never leaves your home network.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Adapty (adapty.io): Used for subscription management. Adapty receives an anonymous device identifier and subscription status. It does not receive any personal information, baby data, or monitoring data. See Adapty's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store: Handles all payment processing for subscriptions. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Children's Privacy
DreamGuard is a tool for parents and caregivers. While the App is used to monitor children, we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. All data about your child (name, birth date, sleep patterns) remains stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us.
7. Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no data for us to retain. Data stored on your device (baby profiles, sleep records, settings) persists until you delete the App or clear its data through iOS Settings.
8. Your Rights
Because DreamGuard stores data only on your device, you have full control:
- Access: All your data is visible within the App.
- Deletion: Delete the App to remove all data, or manage data through iOS Settings.
- Portability: Your subscription can be managed through your Apple ID settings.
9. Security
We take security seriously:
- All device-to-device communication uses AES-256-GCM encryption.
- MultipeerConnectivity sessions require encryption.
- Pairing codes ensure only authorized devices can connect.
- No data is stored on or transmitted through remote servers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
